The Institute of Business and Medical Careers, (IBMC) was an integral contributor at the Lions Club sponsored the 9Health Fair this year.
The event was held at the Christ Center Community Church in Fort Collins on April 24th and 25th. Carole Kitchelle, a member of the Fort Collins Lions Club and Site Coordinator of the Fort Collins 9 News Health Fair stated that he fair was attended by 2,143 with 96% having their blood drawn for testing.
Over half of the volunteers were from IBMC who brought in 120 volunteers to staff the fair. IBMC Business students assisted checked-in and check-out both participants and volunteer staff while Medical students administered health tests ie: blood draws and blood pressures.
Statistics of the work done by the 120 IBMC Volunteers at the 9 News Fair:
• 708 applicants were registered for testing by IBMC volunteers
• 1229 Blood Draws
• 1607 Blood Pressure
• 160 Massages (80 each day) were given to the 9 News Health Fair volunteers
IBMC provided a variety of health testing equipment for the fair volunteers to use including scales for weight and height, blood pressure cuffs, supplies for first aid and materials.
