Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why would I want to go back to school if I have a fairly good job now?
Having a fairly good job now doesn't guarantee always having that good job. The most important thing for each of us to do is to prepare for our future. Assuming you always have this "fairly good job," will it take care of you financially in the future? Will your earnings potential soon be tapped out? Make sure you are prepared for whatever the future may hold -- get skills that will always be in demand. At IBMC we specialize in careers that are in demand now and will also be in demand for years to come.

Q: I don't currently have a job. Could IBMC help me find a job while I go to school?
The answer is very simple -- Yes. We provide career services assistance with writing your resume and developing interviewing skills to students currently attending IBMC. Our placement department helps locate full and part-time opportunities for students.

Q: Will I be able to continue working while I'm in school?
Absolutely! Our classes are scheduled in three seperate four-hour intervals: morning, afternoon, or evening. You'll be able to continue your job or find a part-time job if you need. Some students work 3-day weekends leaving the rest of the week for school.

Q: What are the benefits of this college compared to a local community college?
Our teachers are professionals in the field and are able to simulate real-world experiences. Small classrooms average from 10-15 and we focus on individualized attention from teachers and our staff. Student-teacher ratio is more conducive to learning as they can spend time with each individual student. The quality of your education is important to us. As a private college we are able to focus on job placement assistance at graduation. IBMC also offers refresher classes after graduation as well as life long placement services.

Q: Do I need an appointment?
Yes. You'll meet one-on-one with an admissions representative for about an hour. You'll talk about your interests, your education, and your experience. Then you'll look at our curriculum and go through the programs we offer that fit your goals. Next, you'll tour the campus to see students in action, gaining hands-on experience with the equipment and technology that's used in the workplace. Before you leave, you'll receive a packet of informational materials to take home and review at your convenience.

Q: Should I come alone, or should my parents come along?
If you are a recent high school graduate, it would be helpful to have your parents with you. But you'll receive plenty of materials to share with them if they are unable to make the informational meeting with your admissions representative.
