Leah Six Receives the City of Longmont Fire Department’s Lifesaving Award for Helping to Save the Life a Person in Cardiac Arrest
Leah Six, a local hero, received the Longmont Fire Department's Lifesaving Award for her actions in saving the life of a cardiac arrest patient.
Emergencies can strike at any time, especially in the healthcare industry.
Thanks to the quick thinking of Leah Six, a medical student in the School of Allied Health Careers at the Institute of Business & Medical Careers at the Longmont Campus, a life was preserved.
In a situation Leah found herself in on October 15th, 2011, she was able to respond to a patient in cardiac arrest. With her extraordinary efforts, combined with emergency responders, the patient was resuscitated and transferred to the Longmont United Hospital’s Emergency Department.
For her dedication to helping the person in need and ability to think in a crisis situation, Leah was awarded the Lifesaving Award by the City of Longmont Fire Department on January 21, 2012.
