Paralegal
A Career in the Legal Profession is Both Prestigious & Rewarding
As
a legal assistant or paralegal, you will be a person qualified by
education, training or work experience who is employed or retained by a
lawyer, law office, corporation, governmental agency or other entity
and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for
which a lawyer is responsible. Your career in the legal profession will
be both prestigious and rewarding.
Program Highlights & Objectives
The Paralegal Certificate
program is designed to supplement your baccalaureate or associate
college degree for entering the legal profession upon completion of
thirteen substantive law classes.
In only ten months, this accelerated program provides you with a solid
foundation in the basics of law and an understanding of legal processes
and procedures. You will learn how to use legal resources in order to
assist in the preparation of legal pleadings, memoranda, and documents.
You will be able to conduct client and witness interviews, analyze and
prepare legal documents, and perform other tasks to support attorneys
or other businesses that utilize paralegals. An externship is required
for applying what you learned in the classroom to the workplace.
